Thanks and merry Christmas to you. I wish I would have taken more pictures when I tore it apart. So with cam and crank marks lined up distributor should be installed so that the rotor is pointing at no 1 cylinder correct? Im still curious as to what the letter s is on the crank gear and why the water pump gear is punched? Id hate to get it all…[Read more]

Merry Xmas you must have gotten some engine parts from Santa! Anyway From what I can remember when doing my QXLD motor The marks line up the distributor timing for number 1 spark at top dead center.. Don The Dishwasher

I am assembling my engine and notice my crank gear and cam gear have punch marks which I assume get lined up. My question is what is the s for on the crank gear and what is the punch mark for on the water pump gear when the distributor is drivin off of a worm gear. Qxld3
