History

I have been ready some of you answers to questions. I would like to set the record straight. White Motor Corporation bought REO in 1957 and then bought Diamond T in 1958. In 1960 White Motor Corporation moved Diamond T to Lansing, MI where the REO’s and Diamond Ts and some model White Trucks came off the same assembly line. It was called the Lansing Division of the White Motor Corporation. In May of 1967 the name change from Lansing Division to building REO’s and Diamond T’s to Diamond Reo Trucks. This name stayed that way until May of 1975 when the plant shut down all operations and went into bankruptcy. A couple of years later a dealer in Harrisburg, PA pickup the name and started to build one model of Diamond Reo Trucks called the Giant. They no longer exist either. I know because I worked for Reo/Diamond T from 1960 to 1975. Thanks Dick Trierweiler
