    My 1938 Victor gasket catalog shows various Hinkley engines designated
    H-100, H-1700, H-1900….these appear to be OHV (per pic of head gasket) 4cyl cast in pairs;
    HA-200 and HA500…these appear to be L-head 4cyl, cast in pairs
    HAA-300 and HAA-400…more L-head 4cyl, cast in pairs…
    My various parts catalogs seem to use the HA and HAA interchangeably…
    (1) does anyone here know what differences the “H”, “HA” and “HAA” designated???
    (2) did these engines come with a “tag”, like many Vendor engines and, if no tag or tag gone, is there any visible way to ID these, assuming this question isn’t answered by obvious differences per (1) above…
    I don’t have a Hinkley, or a T; just curiosity…any comments (other than to ‘get a life”)
    appreciated!! Many thxx!! Bud

    (Sigh)–many thxx for reply; my DT/Hinkley list is a real mish-mash…
    Made from old replacement parts catalogs, any two seldom agree if more than one listing, and they never seem to agree on the H/HA/HAA—
    A 36 King Prod (I think they became McQuay-Norris?) lists DiamTs with Hinkley 200, 300, 400, 500, 700, 1400 and 1500 engines, all “HAA”, in the 20-25 period. A 1930 McCord omits most of those, but adds the “H1000” and “HA1600”. I’ve found these old catalogs to be not only incomplete but confusing and contradictory, and’ve gained a lot of understanding re’ parts counter people coming up with the “wrong” parts…
    On the B-B2—that 36 King shows both a Hinkley B2 and a Cont’l B2 with 43/4 bore—there was a Cont’l B, but listed as a 2cyl in a 1917 ring catalog, and a 4cyl B2 43/4×6. Other catalogs show DT 5T with both the Cont’l L4 and B2. As I’ve found no Hinkley engines using just letter designation,. all being H-hundred number etc, I’m wondering if the Hinkley B/B2 is a misprint somewhere, recopied…
    Again, my Hinkley list id incomplete, made from those same unreliable catalogs, So I could well be wrong…(again)…
