1949 model 201 shuts off at 180 degrees. I have seen this same problem on a 1948 model 201 Diamond T Truck. the shut down problem “could” be” caused by ” vapor” lock in the FUEL LINE ; located close to the HEAT from the exhaust manifold. note: after the 1948 model 201 fuel lines had “cooled” off; the Diamond T Truck would start and run ok.
DO you still have the HERCULES 6 cylinder (?) , model QXLD3 (?) in your 1949 model 201 Diamond T truck. note: the fuel lines that run next / near the EXHAUST MANIFOLD “might” (?) need some ( heat, insulation material) to keep the “HEAT” away from the FUEL LINES and the ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP.
