With the assistance of 2 of my brothers we brought all the parts together in one location and partially trial fit the major sheet metal parts to figure out what if anything was missing. It looks like we have all the parts except the rear hood hinge retainer and one of the locking pivot arms to hold the hood open. The wiring harness is on order and I have a generator committed for purchase. I am just need to determine the right pulley size to have it mounted on the generator before I pick it up. The next thing we are going to do is get the rubber cab mounts in order to dry assemble the entire cab assembly before we send it off to be painted and start work on the frame and drive train. Our goal is to have this DT in running order for a Father’s Day parade this coming year 2015. My father is a partial investor in the truck and has requested to see it running before he’s gone. My dad is 85 with some health concerns so I have set this ambitious goal so he can ride in the cab through the parade. His father – my grandfather – designed the parts catalogs for Diamond T in the 40’s and my grandmother was executive secretary to the president of Diamond T – who, I would assume was Mr. Tilt. So this is kind of a personal endeavor for my family. I have 6 brothers who have all pledged their time and efforts to this project.
